Mr. John A. MacEachern has written an exciting murder mystery in The Blood of Art. After a slow beginning, this turned out to be a real page turner with multiple back stories and plot lines interwoven with excellent descriptive passages. A great read!

John MacEachern has done well in writing a crime novel with an interesting plot and well-developed characters, but where this novel really pleases is in his perfect reconstruction of late 1960s America, with all its issues and atmosphere. The more exotic settings are also fun, but to me that's where the novel really shines, as well as in the very interesting plot thread about the art world. There's plenty of suspense and lots of romance as well. A really solid novel that crime fiction fans shouldn't miss.
